UCSJ: Meylakh Sheykhet responded to my posting of the 7/30/17 Jerusalem Post article, "Antisemitic Graffiti Targets WZO in Ukraine"
Meylakh Sheykhet responded to my posting of the 7/30/17 Jerusalem Post article, "Antisemitic Graffiti Targets WZO in Ukraine". WZO is the World Zionist Organization.
Meylakh writes: "The WZO is little-known in Ukraine, so how come the anti-semitic graffiti mentions them?
"It is true that mass graves and Jewish cemeteries are vandalized in Ukraine daily. It's strange that the Vaad doesn't count these facts as anti-semitic. Probably such a failed statistic is welcomed by the Ukrainian government.
"It's also problematic that the Jewish oligarchs become targeted by the anti-corruption officers of Ukraine battling "black" business. Most of the Jewish oligarchs are pro-Russian, sometimes openly.
"When I sent a letter to the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture asking what's been done in Ukraine since the 1994 US-Ukraine Agreement was signed, I received a letter in response that NULL {I assume Meylakh means nothing} was done, with no shame or apologies for that." {I'm not sure what was in the Agreement that he's referring to - G.R.}
